Spaghetti and Meatballs: We're Preggo

Well, the cat is officially out of the bag : ) Shane and I are just about 9 wks pregnant. We weren't going to announce to anyone other than immediate family for another month or so, but due to how sick I have been, and how hard it is for me to get through the work day, and make it to church and bible study etc. - it just made sense to the let the people around us know-because how can you really say no to more people praying?

Shane and I were beyond excited when we found out, but sadly I rarely wear that excitement now that the full blown 1st trimester symptoms have hit. I feel it on the inside, but mostly I just look exhausted, haggard, and like I might just throw up at any second-so get out of the way!!!

I can honestly say, in the words of Shane's grandmother, that "I've never felt so awful in my life." And for those of you who know me and know how prone I am to feeling sick -you know that's saying a lot! This kid owes me about a years worth of doing the dishes-at least! at this point : )

It seems every typical pregnancy symptom has come my way and is no surprise to anyone other than myself- the intense hormonal headaches-the unfathomable exhaustion, the heartburn, the nausea from morning through night, the intense aversion to ANY smells-even my own deoderant and shampoo, the vomiting, the cramps, and so on and so forth.

I told Shane this morning through whimper and whine that I just want to be a normal person again!!! I'm tired of being tired, and sick, and not having enough energy in the morning to even put makeup on before work!

Shane has been such a huge support and so understanding. There was one day when I was feeling particularly sick after work (my worst hours are from about 5- whenever I can manage to fall asleep)-Shane responded to my moans and complains with a chipper "I'm sorry babe-how is your workout routine going?"

I about died! Workout routine? I could barely get out of bed in the morning and get in my car to go to work! HA! needless to say-he has been much more understanding since, and it is something I laugh about. . . in hindsight : )

He has been the dish washer, laundry man, grocery shopper, clothes ironer, and moral support through all of this-and I am so thankful.

We so appreciate any prayers-for the safety of the baby, my health, and God's daily provision for the both of us as we continue on this new journey towards parenthood.  I honestly can't wait to be past these symptoms and be able to reflect and enjoy the pregnancy and prepare my heart for the gift God has given us.

LIFE AT A GLANCE

-Michele currently craves gluten free frozen waffles, popsicles, grilled cheese with pizza sauce, and other even less nutritious fare!
-Shane currently craves chocolate milk
- In Michele's spare time, to distract from the pain, she watches endless episodes of The Office.
-The prediction is that our child will have a great sense of humor and a weight problem.

Thank you in advance for all of your prayers!!
