18 WEEKS
It's hard to believe we are roughly half way through the pregnancy! We have finally gotten our chilly Fall weather, and although I am thrilled to have it cooled off due to often feeling overheated and stifled, I must say that bundling up while you are ever expanding is not an easy feat.
I have read numerous articles that all say it is common during your first pregnancy to not feel the baby move until around 20 weeks or later, but just a couple days ago I felt the baby kick for the first time! It is a pretty crazy experience and I find myself staring at my stomach waiting for something to happen. It usually occurs after I eat or at night. After the first kick, I lifted up my shirt just in time to see the second kick right below my belly button. It definitely makes it more real when you can feel and see the baby tossing and turning in there!
Shane and I can't wait to find out the gender in a few weeks. We've narrowed down names for a boy and a girl (which we won't announce til the baby is born), and being able to know the name of the baby, will make it even more real!!!
Nausea and heartburn ensue, but I've come to grips with the fact that I might just experience them for the duration of this pregnancy.
BAKING THERAPY
About a month ago, via pinterest, I saw a recipe for homemade oatmeal cream pies from Better Homes online. Obviously, they weren't gluten free-but after tweaking a few ingredients, I was ready to experiment!!!
I was completely shocked when the cookies turned out perfect and chewy!
I think the cookies would be delicious on their own, but the icing inside definitely had Shane's vote of approval.
Gluten-Free Oatmeal Cream Pie-Little Debbie really needs to get on this train.
One is definitely enough!
Until Next Time!
