Mom and Dad down South!

They've already left, and it flew by in the blink of an eye, but this weekend the long awaited trip down South by my parents finally happened!

We were able to show them our place, give them a tour of the area, and spend some great quality time with just the four of us.

This morning, before sending them off, we picked them up at their hotel as the sun came up to hit up a Southern staple- WAFFLE HOUSE : )

Like most vacations-it felt like most of what we did was eat! Saturday night we stopped by Bonefish and Dad and Shane not only enjoyed the restraunt's popular Bang Bang Shrimp-but we also enjoyed their decadent flourless (Gfree) macadamia brownie with ice cream, whip cream and raspberry sauce!!! YUM

Thankfully I was able to finish our chairs-FINALLY-before my parents showed up (only days before), we were able to share meals and good conversation over our small table and it was definitely worth all the hours of tedious work!


They started off painted cream with striped cushions.


The cream chairs blended into the walls, so I stripped the paint and re-stained the wood-giving some contrast to the room and also nutralizing the cushions with a speckled hemp colored fabric.

A project I am definitely happy to have behind me : )

It is now ready for guests, and we christened it this weekend with some great food and intense competition over a few (12) rounds of Sequence!


We Miss them already, but were very blessed by their visit and are praying for their safe travels home as they venture back up North to the newly fallen snow : (

Thankfully-they will make a fun pit stop at their new favorite town in the South (no, not Buford) , but Nashville : )
