Spring has Sprung

I'm still getting used to the weather down here(For 10 days we were snowed in and a mere 2 weeks later we were enjoying 60 + weather), but I'm not going to complain about spring coming "early."
This weekend Shane and I were able to enjoy spending some time outside by taking a ride over to UGA in Athens to watch Shane's cousin Taylor play softball against Georgia in a weekend long tournament.

They didn't win-but they played a great game & it was great to be able to see Taylor and get a taste of what she has been up to during her first year of school so far.

While we were in Athens Shane and I got our first taste of "couponing." Thanks to Racquel, who sent along a link to a natural food store that was running a deal this week, we made off with some free stuff!!

The place is called Earth Fare, and they have very strict parameters for their food and what you can find on their shelves. It's like a Whole Foods, but on a smaller scale and it just so happens that 1 of the only 2 in Georgia is in Athens, where we would be this weekend while they were running a deal.

The Deal: Spend 10 $ and get a whole chicken, rustic mashed potatoes, and a bag of organic carrots for free! They called it "Dinner for 4," but its really only enough to feed 2! ...which is perfect...since there's 2 of us : )

We bought 10 $ worth of Quinoa pasta and organic pasta sauce, and the rest was free!

Other "Food News":

These were a gift from Shane's parents that I got for Christmas. Valentine's Day was too tempting of an opportunity to pass up to be able to use them.

. . . . . . . . .

Though I have had to take a small hiatus from my plan to bake through the Gluten Free Baking Cook Book Racquel bought me-I did recently try the Apple Cinnamon Muffin Recipe.

It tasted like a true muffin-unlike the super-sweet cake-like versions you can make from a box mix-It was still moist and soft, but with only a touch of sweetness that made it great for something quick to grab in the morning.

Flashback "Food News":

This picture pretty much makes me die of laughter! This was Shane and I's spread for the Superbowl-and yes it was just the two of us! Queso, Guac, Pico De Guillo, Potato Skins, & Spinach Artichoke Dip (Needless to say this was our "dinner.") Gross?-maybe-but the best part of this is Shane's new Hair-Do-Thankfully it was a phase that only lasted the duration of the game!

Recent Project:

We finally collected all of our frames and were able to put up pictures of family and friends.

We found these handmade barn wood frames on Etsy

Once I had our family pictures in their frames I was so excited I put the frames on our table for Shane to see when he got home from work.

Didn't quite realize the creepy effect that the candles, who were coincidentally sharing the space, gave the pictures. Shane thought it looked like we had set up some memorial or that we were worshiping the pictures-haha-we quickly took them down.

Our Wedding Portrait

The Final Compilation

One project down-many more to come!

P.S.
Couldn't help but post these pics

I loved this printed U.S. Postal Box we got in the mail from Shane's Parents

We also loved what was inside : ) !

Countdown

3 DAYS TIL MY PARENTS COME TO VISIT!!!!!

Can't wait!
