The weekend started off with Shane's football game. The Bears played the Lanier Longhorns--we beat them 55-7, but keep in mind they are only a J.V. team!! : /
Saturday we visited a farm 30 minutes north-Jaemor Farms-They grow and sell produce ranging from pumpkins, apples, and peaches, to Zucchini and cantaloupe. We enjoyed perusing the market and trying the fresh baked goods and homemade peach ice cream. We picked up some peaches and made some peach cobbler that was delicious! ( I have a strange suspicion that the Georgia peaches helped with that).
It was a short weekend, but sweet nonethelesss--it was great to have family in our new abode, or as Shane calls it, "our humble adobe."
We have yet to find a church to call home. This is a continued prayer request, not only for us to be encouraged, fed, and have a place to serve, but also to be able to have a place to invite non-believers, we already have a couple we would love to bring to church--but have nowhere to bring them.
The Four Loves by C.S. Lewis
- At the risk of sounding redundant, I love this book. C.S. explores the areas of affection, friendship, eros(romantic/erotic love), and charity, showing their virtues as well as their vices, and concluding that all of these loves, without God has their god, become demons that can destroy us, conversly it can also reveal much about how we were created and intended to love. As always his balance of intellect, humor, and his capacity for precise insight into the human condition is what keeps me reading to the end. It's a book I've had for a couple years now, and I'm glad I finally picked it up!

Seven Words To Change Your Family by Pastor James Mcdonald
*Wedding gift from Annie!
- This book is great. Pastor James goes through key concepts, actions, and attitudes to equip you with the tools to best love and "transform" your family. If you let it, the book will definitely challenge and convict you to better love the family you came from and the one you will someday, or already are building. He talks about forgiveness, blessing, honor, truth, church, commitment, and "the greatest of these," LOVE.
The Winners Manuel by Jim Tressel
- Shane and the whole Mt. View coaching staff are currently reading this book. They go over it each Sunday for a portion of their meetings their afternoon. It integrates the author and coach's personal faith, and it will be interesting to see how the ideas in the book impact the coaches on the team.

Weather Update
Though it is Fall, daily temps usually hit high 80's to low 90's, but it's def. not
as humid and the nights and mornings have cooled off-so that has been really nice.

A week ago was the first time we have had to buy toilet paper since we moved down here! Our family (mom & nani) had us well equipped with this necessity and it lasted us 2 months-haha!
