T.G.I.F.

Ahhhhhh. Friday. . . and finally! It's been a great week, but veeeeeeeeeeeery long! It's weekends like this that you need to plan nothing and just catch up on sleep! (Though sadly, that never happens).

This week has been full of learning experiences and I know Shane and I will enter this next Monday with fewer butterflies in our stomachs. Yesterday during subbing I had to get in a kids face that was being disrespectful and inappropriate--he had been testing me and definitely pushed me too far. Today after school, while helping some of the administration serve root "bear" floats (Mt. View Bears) to the teachers in appreciation for a good week, the teacher I was subbing for, and also later the student aforementioned's case worker, came up to me and asked me to put in writing the "incident." Apparently they have been working with him for over a year trying to get him to get his act together and they are hoping this next incident report will send him packing. If I had one word to describe this student it is - toxic. Needless to say it has been an interesting week. Shane finally got his case load of students yesterday and is working through all of that now.

It's been a long and HOT week, but since I start work early I am done fairly early and have still tried to attempt to experiment with meals and what not. Here is a three bean turkey chili I made. I stole the cornbread bowl idea from Paul Dean!! I don't attempt to make many of her recipes ( usually pretty unhealthy) but I loved the idea of forming the cornbread into the actual bowl you eat your chili in. Best part was that it was G-FREE. (Thanks to Racquel and the rest of my sisters for the GF cornbread mix :) )

mmmmmmmmmmm.

Yum.

Well tonight we are off to see a Falcons/Chiefs preseason game. We are heading over there with Coach Hardy and Lindsey & will see Maren and Jer Chupp, Dan Studebaker and Stephanie Thornton (recently engaged), as well as Mal! It will be fun to watch Andy and have a little Wheaton reunion of sorts.

It's been so Warm that our chocolate filled candy dish has to chill out in the fridge!
