While living in Chicago it was almost comical that you felt like you could find a Walgreens around every corner, and what felt like, on every corner. One of the first things I noticed about the area we live is that although we live across the street from the largest mall in the South East with strip malls and and shopping centers for miles in both directions, I had YET to see a Walgreens. Maybe I was simply desiring something familiar, something I could count on to be there when I needed it! : ) I soon discovered the Southern equivalent-Waffle House. Bizarre to say the least, they are EVERYWHERE. They are not only on every corner...but on the way to the next corner. One day Shane and I were driving somewhere and we not only saw a Waffle House up ahead, but could still see one in the rear view mirror!!!All I know is that Shane and I have yet to find a gas station that is easy to get to from our apartment. . . if our cars ran on maple syrup though, we would be in good shape.

Okay, so you are going to have to go The Waffle House sometime and order chicken {fried} and waffles. Well maybe Shane should, since you can't do the whole waffle thing. It's a very Southern thing and I'd love do hear how it is from the South :) Love yas!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the South! If you drive on I-40 from the Atlantic in North Carolina all the way to Texas, there will be more Waffle Houses than MacDonald's...seriously! I am slightly obsessed with Waffle House, it's the best, greasiest place ever. Try the hashbrowns when you go...you can get them five million different ways. Love YALL!!
