Chairs: 1 down 3 to go

I've finally finished ONE of the four chairs I am refinishing :) With school starting up, and the "learn-as-you-go" experience I've had, it has definitely slowed down my momentum. My goal was to strip the paint off 4 wooden chairs we bought on craigslist and reupholster the seats with more neutral updated fabric, hoping to bring out some the rich grain that hopefully awaited me underneath the layers and layers of paint!!!

Here are some before and after pictures of the process.

Before: On our porch/my workshop

After

Depending on your taste it might seem like the chair got worse :) But Shane and I really like the worn rustic look of our "new" chair. Def. not as clean as I thought it would be underneath but it adds a lot of character.

Hopefully I can finish the rest soon, and add some contrast to the cream walls.

  1. I applaud you. We've had our dining room set that has needed refinishing and reupholstering ever since we got it 4 years ago. You did a great job, Mish. Oh, and I didn't realize the wanes coating on your walls. I really like it.
